London’s ceramics studio, Turning Earth, will be gathering an assortment of London’s master makers at the MAKEMORE festival to give demonstrations in the ceramics area where festival attendees will be able to get a taste of making with clay themselves as well as observing the process from start to finish.
“Our vision rests in the intuitive feeling that we naturally make life more beautiful when we take our aesthetic awareness, our right-brained feeling for things, as seriously as we take our rational understanding of the world.”
Tallie Maughan, Turning Earth’s Creative Director.
A pioneering force of the maker movement, Turning Earth cultivates ceramic craft both as an accessible hobby and as a viable career offering open-access membership to its London studios. Turning Earth will be on site for the entire five days. Built into your ticket, they will be providing clay throwing on the wheel, as well as demonstrating outdoor firings and other exciting techniques. We want to give everyone coming the opportunity to witness the miraculous metamorphosis of clay into finished ceramic work.
